July 4th Beach Weekend

It was the epitome of a beach day the Saturday before 4th of July... we knew exactly what we were doing that day the moment we woke up and saw the sun shining and whispy clouds with a light breeze - 85 degrees, simply a perfect day for the beach!!

So that's exactly what we did!!!

Colby used his new Boogie Board and PJ and I played in the water!

And then on the new chairs...

we dug in the sand...

and fetched pails and pails of water...

poured them out ...

and then got some more...

it sure was our kinda beach day...

digging and playing and playing and digging and watching from the camera lens.

When our castle mound was complete with moat...

we rinsed off... or tried... ya know sand ends up in some places that are very interesting when you have 2 little boys to clean.

And then some listened to the crashing waves and just did what everyone should do on the beach...

Take a nap!!!

After PJ got up from his all too short of a nap, we packed up and headed home for dinner and baths. The tub was 1/2 an inch deep with sand! Busy day filled with fun, but hey, someone's gotta do it!! Oh and I guess I should mention that this is the point at which our camera, our beautiful wonderful camera was confiscated by 2 small hands belonging to a 1 year and 3 day old little boy who will remained unnamed. But alas we have a new one and thankfully a phone that takes pretty decent photos cause there was no way I was going to miss any of the action to be had ON the 4th of July!!! More to come! :)
